My First, Real Prince

Words can't express how I felt about my little one turning two, June 11. I thought turning two would feel like any other day, or shall I say - a regular birthday. When he turned one, I wanted to cry and I felt like the time went by incredibly to fast. He turned two, and I was still overwhelmed with the same emotions. I felt like I missed something, and I found myself asking again, "Where did the time go?".

But truthfully, it's not about where the time went - if you're living in the moment. If we stop rushing our kids to be "big boys/girls", let them be messy with crayons without worrying about how long it'll take you to get the stains out, and just live IN the moment for once - we'll never have to ask ourselves where the time went. We know where it went, we were there - the memories have substance. The thought of having a picture as your only way of remembering is no longer there, you can put yourself back in that memory and remember the smells, taste, sights, feels.

My sweet boy.. at two, you:
  • Count from 1-10
  • Say your alphabet (with mommy/daddy's help after the letter G of course)
  • Say: Please, Thank You, Sorry, Mommy, Daddy, Da Da, Meemaw, NO (good lord, you abuse this word), Yes, Hi & Bye, "Shoe Time",  Shoes, Socks, Let's Go, Ready, Teeth, Potty, Wa-Wa (water), Juice, Eyes, Nose, Ears, Mouth, CAR/CARS (your favorite word & thing in the world), and a couple more cute little words you amaze me with.
  • Help me carry groceries
  • Put your shoes on yourself, and help with your shirt/pants
  • Ask me for help
  • Show me what you want (usually grapes from the fridge, gotta have your grapes - oh and YOGURT)
  • Greet whoever comes in the house with a big wave and, "HI!"
  • Spell words correctly on the Endless Alphabet app
  • Love coloring
  • Love drinking water !
  • You have a love for fruit loops, old fashioned oatmeal & yogurt
  • You adore brushing your teeth, 3x a day almost !
  • Sleep with your doggy, "Scout"
  • Go to sleep around 9pm, and faithfully wake up around 8am - no matter what
  • Throw things away in the trash, and love washing your hands
  • CAN OFFICIALLY SLIDE DOWN THE SLIDE BY YOURSELF :D
  • Drink out of a regular cup
  • Run and jump with ease, it's literally second nature now
  • Only watch Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, Cailou, Super Why, Sid the Science Kid & Curious George.
  • Have an obsession over cars - EVERY car
..... SO MUCH MORE, but mommy's brain is overloaded thinking of all the cool awesome things you do now.

I Love You, A xo

Krump Workshop - Williamsburg

Yesterday my hubby and his friend Norman had a workshop at William & Mary. Norman is not only his friend, but also his "twinn" in his fam, so he's "Twinn Priest" (Yes, they spell it with two n's! It's just krump). So off we went to Williamsburg, I forgot how pretty it was ! Domo said it reminded him of when he lived in London (lucky duck). I'm making it a must to go back in the summer, of course stopping at Busch Gardens as well - ANYWAYS, it only took us like 45 mins to get there. I really wanted to go because other dancers of different styles were there. I had so much fun ! The only thing that killed it was the fact I had to go to work right after, and I missed the other workshops :(

Taking some vids and pictures ^

Priest Fam ! :)

The rarely pictured couple.. Hi from hubby & I !

My son had to get off at least ONCE, it was cute seeing everyone smiling at him.

Everyone who participated in the Krump workshop impressed me. That's the cool thing about being around other dancers. They really did want to learn Krump, and they dedicated themselves even if it looked a little funny. Can't help but respect that ! My bro and hubby did a great job teaching.

Best part of the day: Toddler slept through almost the whole thing. So mommy got to pay attention and actually watch.

Love, I Love You

My husband turned 22 the other day (March 21st). It's so hard to believe I've been celebrating birthday's with him since high school. I remember bringing him cupcakes and goodies to school - I felt so cute bringing him a big bag full of things he likes. I've always gotten him a bag of things I know he likes. Prior to his birthday this year we picked up things he's been eyeing for awhile, and on his actual birthday all we did was go out to eat ! He just wanted to spend his day with me, and I couldn't argue with that *blushing* I mean I'm awesome, come on.

I could NEVER imagine giving my all to anyone else but him. There's this connection that I can't show or describe in words, through pictures, or social networks. I just appreciate his life, his soul, his character, he's the type of person I wish I could be sometimes.

He loves me the way "I" need to be loved (Lord knows it takes someone special to deal with me 24/7). He deals with me the way I need to be dealt with. He's patient and kind without being a wuss. I can't help but respect him for who he is and what he's done for me.

We're not perfect, and this isn't that cute tumblr love story or anything - I'm just a regular woman, in love with an regular man that I see as extraordinary.

I LOVE YOU, pop ! It was fun celebrating the least fun birthday number with you. I mean really, 22 is so awkward. It's like turning 17. It's not special but it's still a birthday so we count it. Geez.. come to think about it the next exiting birthday won't be until you're 30. OMG. We are old .. well I'm 20 - I still have my 21st and.. OKAY - I'm rambling, have a good day everyone.

Spring - from my iPhone

You ever have those days that just feel good? I am obsessed with the feeling of having no WORK or errands to run (even though I secretly have a long list of imaginary things to do/things I forget). The weather made it even more refreshing, considering VA is bipolar. Nonetheless, happy first day of SPRING =)

Should've put a filter on this, it probably would've hid my split ends ... *hides*

JUICE time. All the kiddies were happy to drink some Capri suns. Adrian doesn't get them often so he was excited ! Because at auntie' he gets all the cool food/drinks.

Thank you sissy for this meal! Thank for taking my eggs out the microwave when I tried reheating my plate. If I could eat baked wings everyday I WOULD I love chicken wings. No breasts, thighs, or legs - JUST wings . My first true love.

My Beautiful Baby, *ahem* Toddler

There's nothing like your own. There's nothing like loving YOUR baby. There's no other person that you'd ever love more than YOUR babies. You make them, but they made you a mommy.

XO

Take a Moment

Let's all take a moment to say, "Thank You," to nothing else but... FOOD ! I LOVE food, actually no- I'm IN love with food. I love fresh fruits, down below I have a picture of these extremely-juicy-for-no- reason Nectarines. I love spring, peaches are back - the good ones. But these Nectarines had me shaking my head. I just love fruit, and eating healthy really isn't that bad.

There's nothing better than my baked Tilapia (I'm sure I'm not the only one who makes great fish! But this is bangin'). I didn't even season it a lot. But some how tilapia absorbs a dash of this and that so well, it just taste like heaven. I also put butter on top - KILLER. And whoever thought of those frozen steam able veggies - THANK YOU, for your 4 1/2 minutes of veggies that taste like I actually steamed them myself. So good !!! Am I really going crazy over vegetables ? Yup.. I'm a mom. Or am I just old ? (Yes, 20 y/o is old to me, I'd rather be 10 still listening to Nsync from my boom box )

And then my favorite thing, the thirst was so real - GATORADE, cool blue. Throw this in the freezer for half an hour or so, and it's the perfect slushie. Why isn't 7/11 selling it like this! I'm such a rambler, I ramble to much - but this is so good. Maybe it's just me.. ?

Family First, from my iPhone

Today was... Good. I just spent time with family and that was truly all I wanted. It feels good being around people that genuinely love you, you feel like you belong, it feels "safe". I'm so grateful for people like this.  I have been neglecting my blog! Do you agree ? I know you don't have to posts things everyday but my purpose was to capture every event, and write novels about my 24 hr days. At times I just want to post couple pictures. I am slacking ! But there's also a lot of things going on, and a lot of fast pace decisions going on which prohibits me from focusing on blogging, more on sleeping :)

My first time having lobster ! (Gawd, I know you're thinking, "She doesn't get out much" and you're right) I didn't know how it was suppose to taste. My husbands mom had to describe to me how it was suppose to taste. I can't help but laugh out loud while writing this. Nonetheless, I left satisfied & would totally eat lobster again as long as I have butter !

My son didn't really get treats, let me rephrase - "sweet" treats. I don't want his mouth caked up with candy, or his stomach full of snacks. Even though he would totally be fine with eating snacks all day.. Fatty. I let him have his own lollipop today with no help from me. He made a little mess - but as a mom, you soon realize the mess is apart of learning. As much as we'd like to control the spills and stains we can't ! My motto - let them have fun sometimes ! It's sad because our babies won't be messy babies anymore. Who knows... I may have a child who's a neat freak who doesn't like his food touching ? We never know !
