My First, Real Prince

Words can't express how I felt about my little one turning two, June 11. I thought turning two would feel like any other day, or shall I say - a regular birthday. When he turned one, I wanted to cry and I felt like the time went by incredibly to fast. He turned two, and I was still overwhelmed with the same emotions. I felt like I missed something, and I found myself asking again, "Where did the time go?".

But truthfully, it's not about where the time went - if you're living in the moment. If we stop rushing our kids to be "big boys/girls", let them be messy with crayons without worrying about how long it'll take you to get the stains out, and just live IN the moment for once - we'll never have to ask ourselves where the time went. We know where it went, we were there - the memories have substance. The thought of having a picture as your only way of remembering is no longer there, you can put yourself back in that memory and remember the smells, taste, sights, feels.

My sweet boy.. at two, you:
  • Count from 1-10
  • Say your alphabet (with mommy/daddy's help after the letter G of course)
  • Say: Please, Thank You, Sorry, Mommy, Daddy, Da Da, Meemaw, NO (good lord, you abuse this word), Yes, Hi & Bye, "Shoe Time",  Shoes, Socks, Let's Go, Ready, Teeth, Potty, Wa-Wa (water), Juice, Eyes, Nose, Ears, Mouth, CAR/CARS (your favorite word & thing in the world), and a couple more cute little words you amaze me with.
  • Help me carry groceries
  • Put your shoes on yourself, and help with your shirt/pants
  • Ask me for help
  • Show me what you want (usually grapes from the fridge, gotta have your grapes - oh and YOGURT)
  • Greet whoever comes in the house with a big wave and, "HI!"
  • Spell words correctly on the Endless Alphabet app
  • Love coloring
  • Love drinking water !
  • You have a love for fruit loops, old fashioned oatmeal & yogurt
  • You adore brushing your teeth, 3x a day almost !
  • Sleep with your doggy, "Scout"
  • Go to sleep around 9pm, and faithfully wake up around 8am - no matter what
  • Throw things away in the trash, and love washing your hands
  • CAN OFFICIALLY SLIDE DOWN THE SLIDE BY YOURSELF :D
  • Drink out of a regular cup
  • Run and jump with ease, it's literally second nature now
  • Only watch Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, Cailou, Super Why, Sid the Science Kid & Curious George.
  • Have an obsession over cars - EVERY car
..... SO MUCH MORE, but mommy's brain is overloaded thinking of all the cool awesome things you do now.

I Love You, A xo
